We had an absolute blast last night at our 2022 Grand Slam at a packed to the brim Avalon Lounge in Catskill where eight On The Fly slam winner competed for the Grand Slam prize. Meg Rhinehart won with her beautifully told story. Congratulations, Meg! You can hear her story and all the stories on SoundCloud. We’ll see you next month on May 5. The theme will be MOTHER NATURE. Start practicing so you can tell a 5-minute true life story that might land you in next year’s Grand Slam. 

Grand Slams ’22

On April 7 we will be celebrating the winners of last year’s story slams. Ten beautiful storytellers. Please join us in celebrating these wonderful storytellers and help us pick the 2022 Grand Slam winner in style. We will fit as many people as possible at Avalon, but we suggest you come early to secure a spot and to order from the kitchen before the show. This should be a good one. 7pm. See you there!

March 3 Slam at Left Bank Ciders in Catskill

Story Folks!

Slight change of plan for this week: The Avalon Lounge will be closed on Thursday for a photo shoot, so we’re moving the slam for one night across the street to Left Bank Ciders, who has graciously offered to host us. Same theme – ESCAPE. Same time – 7pm. There will be no charge at the door, and you can bring your own food to go along with the yummy drinks they sell at Left Bank Ciders. The address is: 150 Water St, Catskill, NY 12414. We hope you’ll join us and can’t wait to hear your stories

Stories and pics from our May 8 Grand Slam

A huge thank you to everyone who braved the relentless drizzle and cold this weekend and brought sleeping bags and blankets and chairs and food and good cheers to listen to an amazing group of storytellers at our first BackYard Slam of the season. What a night! Also a big congratulations to Deb Parker who took the Grand Slam prize with a fabulous and hilarious story about growing up with a sexually adventurous mom. We will be back in Tivoli next month on June 12. The theme of the night is “Slippery Slope.” Come drop your name in the hat to tell your story! On The Fly Grand Slam ’21

Can you guys feel it? It’s about to happen… Soon spring will be here, and we will all be able to get outside and feel the breeze on our faces and watch things grow. AND, we will be able to resume our backyard On The Fly Story Slams. We’ve missed you all since our last backyard slam in the fall, and because of COVID we had to cancel our end of the year Grand Slam where the winners from our monthly slams compete for the grand slam title. We promised you that instead we’d host the grand slam in the spring when we could be outside again, and here it is! May 8 @ 5pm in beautiful Tivoli NY with an amazing line-up up some of our favorite storytellers. You’ll have to RSVP as we’re still limiting participation due to the pandemic, and we’ll send you the location address once you do. Click here to save your spot. We can’t wait!
